Africa Research Central[1] is a gateway to archives, libraries and museums with remarkable collections of African↑ primary sources. First launched in 1998 with the support of the California State University, Fullerton↑, the core of the site consists of a searchable database for primary source repositories. The repository section allows users to get contact details, access and holding information, full-text articles, brochures, photographs, etc., from the harvested institutions. In addition, the site maintains an archive with documentary and cultural heritage which is located out of Africa, guides to Africa-related resources as well as a section where institutions in Africa can publicize their preservation needs.
